A Guide To Tariffing 2006 |
![]() |
Tariff is the mark of difficulty given to each move. Note that a move is
from take off to landing, so that back drop is one move and coming up to
feet from back is another move and they are tariffed separately.
Non rotating moves or moves with less than 90° rotation, and no twist - no
tariff.
E.g. tuck, pike or straddle jumps
Seat drop
To feet from Seat
For rotation around the lateral axis i.e. back and front somersault and any
part of them - 0.1 for 90° i.e. quarter somersault. Plus every whole
somersault gets a 0.1 bonus.
E.g. Front drop (90° forward rotation) 0.1
Back drop (90° backward rotation) 0.1
Return to feet from back 0.1
3/4 front somersault (Crash Dive) 0.3
3/4 back somersault (Lazy back) 0.3
Front or Back somersault (t) 0.5
Double back or front somersault (t) 1.0
For rotation around the longitudinal axis (twisting) - 0.1 for 180°.
E.g. 1/2 Twist jump 0.1
Full Twist jump 0.2
Double Twist jump 0.4
For moves which combine somersault and twist - add the 2 components
together. E.g. Front somersault with 1/2 twist (Barani) 0.5 + 0.1 = 0.6
Back somersault with Full Twist 0.5 + 0.2 =
0.7
1/2 Twist to front drop 0.1 +
0.1 = 0.2
1/2 Twist to Feet from Back 0.1 + 0.1 =
0.2
1/2 Twist to feet from Seat 0.0 + 0.1
= 0.1
1/2 out (t) (Double Front somersault with 1/2 Twist) 1.0 + 0.1 = 1.1
Additional points are given for pike and straight shapes in whole
somersaults or more which have no twist - 0.1 for each whole somersault done
with that shape.
Eg. back somersault (s) 0.6
Front Somersault (p) 0.6
For all double somersaults with or without twist and extra 0.1 for each
somersault when done piked or straight (triple somersaults don't receive the
bonus on the 3rd somersault)
E.g. Double Back somersault (p) 1.0 + 0.2 = 1.2
1/2 out (p) (Double Front somersault with 1/2 twist) 1.0 + 0.1 + 0.2 = 1.3
Remember that each move is tariffed separately. Body landing moves such as
front drop require another move to come to feet. Moves such as swivel hips
and cradles are 3 moves - e.g. back drop, 1/2 twist to back drop, to feet
(cradle)
Exceptions - turntables and side somersaults are rotation around the
dorso ventral axis and should not be used in competition.
