Newry Grade2

It was 5:45 and Rachel, Harry, my mum and I, were on the way to Newcastle airport to fly to Belfast for the first grade 2 of the year, which was held in Newry. When we got to the airport we met Rachael, Tara, Dustin and Claire from Superflyers. When we got through to the departures gate we saw Craig, Adam, Kate, Mary and Peter from South-Tyneside.

When we finally got on the plane we told Rachel that when we went to N. Ireland the clocks went back 1 hour (which she fell for!!!!!) We were all in on it. When we landed the pilot said that the time was 8:00am, but Rachel did not hear and we were all laughing when we heard. Rachel kept asking what we were laughing at!!!!! When we got off the plane and walked outside and Rachel saw the clock she nearly wet herself laughing because this was the third time she had been to N. Ireland.

Then we got the hire car we set off on the way to Newry, my mum was driving Gary was trying to navigate, while Rachel, Harry and I sat in the back listening to music. We stopped about ½ way there and got some petrol and a sandwich, Rachel got a sausage sandwich and she thought the lady said “would you like salt” and Rachel said yes then the lady said “red or brown” and Rachel got very confused (the lady really asked her would you like S-A-U-C-E).

When we arrived at the sports centre the competition had not even started so me an Rachel went to have a look at the shops and Gary, Harry, my mum, Rachael, Claire, Dustin and Tara went to a little café. When we went back to the sports centre we still had about an hour to kill so we sat and chilled out ready for the competition. Rachel and I went to get some drinks when we saw every-one from South-Tyneside then Peter told Rachel that we had crossed the international date line and Rachel went to tell Gary then Rachel realised what she had done (again!!!)

The competition started at 1:00pm with the under 13 boys and girls on one panel,

and the under & over 18 boys and girls on the other panel. Rachel, Harry and Tara was finished by about 2:00pm and they all finished 2nd. Rachel finished with a score of 54.5and Harry finished with a score of 52.0 so they both retained in grade 2 and qualified for national finals so did Craig, Kate and Adam from South-Tyneside they all finished 1st so well done to them all!!!!!!!

Once the competition had finished Gary, my mum, Harry, Rachel and I went to an American grill bar for tea. Once we had finished the meal we were heading back to the airport for the flight back home, we went through to the departure gate and met back up with South-Tyneside once we were on the plane we asked the air hostess if we could say well done to every one who qualified for the British Championships. Here are some pics of the trip.

Hope you enjoy them……..
